Fungicide of systemic action. Chemical class of triazoles. Active ingredient: penconazole, at a concentration of 100 g / l. Available in the form of an emulsion. Hazard class 3 for humans (moderately hazardous substance) and Hazard class 3 for bees. Producer: LLC 'Syngenta', Switzerland. Shelf life is 4 years from the date of manufacture.

  • mechanism of action of penconazole: suppresses infection at the time of spore germination and penetration of the growth tube into the leaf tissue.
  • acropetal movement of penconazole - spreads through the vascular system behind the point of plant growth, i.e. gets into young growing shoots.
  • effective in all weather conditions, therefore it is widely used on garden plants and indoor flowers.
  • The fungicidal effect of Topaz is manifested during the first day, in the next 10-14 days, the protective function remains.
  • one of the few powerful drugs approved for use in personal subsidiary plots and in an apartment.
  • Topaz is not phytotoxic.
  • the fungicide is effective over a wide temperature range and can be used in early spring.
  • can be mixed with other pesticides, suitable for tank mixes.

Topaz fungicide application

The active substance of topaz is highly effective, first of all, against the pathogens of powdery mildew, especially in primary lesions. Topaz is also widely used to treat fruit rot, purple spot, netted spot, gray rot, rust, scab, septoria, cercosporellosis, oidium.

The prepared solution is carefully sprayed on the plants in dry, calm weather.

Topaz on grapes and stone fruits (cherries, peaches, apple trees) is used for the first time before flowering, the second time after flowering. Only 3-4 treatments are allowed.

On vegetables and indoor flowers, Topaz is used at the first signs of the disease.

Topaz on berries is used for the first time at the time of bud formation, the second time after picking the berries. Only 2 treatments are allowed.

The combination of Topaz and Cuproxat is especially successful. It should be borne in mind that there is a possibility of resistance to a fungicide, therefore, in gardens where infections are most common (for example, when unreliable neighbors do not want to treat trees from scab), it is better to alternate Topaz with fungicides from other chemical groups.

Attention, fake! Due to the popularity of the fungicide Topaz, there are many counterfeit products on the market. The marketing managers of Syngenta LLC have repeatedly published an official conclusion on the detection of a forgery.

Consumption rates

2 ml of Topaz preparation are calculated on average for 10 liters for various diseases and only against rust the norm is 4 ml per 10 liters of water.

For use on indoor flowers, Topaz fungicide is best diluted in a small amount of water. The entire volume of the ampoule must be drawn into a 2 ml syringe, and then the required amount is dispensed, for example, 1 ml per 5 liters of water. Store the drug remaining in the syringe with a closed cap at room temperature, in the dark and out of the reach of children.

It is possible to increase the concentration by no more than 1.5-2 times, i.e. 3-4 ml of Topaz per 10 liters of water. At the same time, plants do not feel oppressed. If leaf lethargy manifests itself, this may be a reaction to a violation in care, for example, to waterlogging of the soil.

Working fluid consumption rates: 2 liters for a small tree, up to 5 liters for a larger tree, 1.5-2 liters for a bush (currants, gooseberries), vegetables - up to 5 liters per hundred square meters.

Toxicity of Topaz

Topaz is moderately toxic to bees and birds. Toxic to some fish and aquatic organisms. Penconazole accumulates in the soil, at the beginning of application the disintegration period is 14 days, with frequent use up to 21 days. Therefore, it is not recommended to carry out Topaz treatments on one garden plot for more than 3 years (Podgornaya M.E. 'Dynamics of decomposition of topaz in garden agrocenoses.' Journal of Plant Protection and Quarantine, No. 12, 2003)

Security measures. Gloves should be used when handling the drug. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. It is unacceptable to eat, drink and smoke. Wash hands and face thoroughly after handling.

First aid: if the fungicide comes into contact with the skin, wash off with plenty of water; in case of contact with eyes, rinse abundantly with running water; if it enters the digestive tract, drink 3-4 glasses of water, induce vomiting, take several tablets of activated carbon, seek medical help.
