Oxalis family. Homeland - both tropical, subtropical and temperate regions on all continents. In nature, there are about 800 species of representatives of this genus. These are medium-sized herbaceous perennial and annual plants.
- Oxalis deppei is a small stemless bush with a dark brown bulb and underground shoots. Leaves on thin and long stalks of 4-6 pieces are collected in rosettes. Leaves are palmate-compound, of four segments, each of which is obverse-cordate, up to 3.5 cm long, with a notch at the apex and finely toothed along the edge. Leaves are light green in color with a purple spot in the center, they fold in the dark. Flowers up to 2 cm in diameter, red or with a purple tint, with a yellow throat, collected in an umbrella-shaped inflorescence. The fruit is a capsule.
- Ortgis's oxalis Oxalis ortgiesii is a small herb with pubescent stems, on the top of which leaves are mainly formed. The leaves are trifoliate, each of the leaves up to 7 cm long, obverse-heart-shaped, with a deep notch at the top, brownish-red with pubescence. Flowers up to 1.5 cm in diameter, yellow, collected in 5-10 pieces in an umbellate inflorescence.
Temperature: Moderate. Ortgis oxalis is kept at 16-18 ° C in winter. During the dormant period, Depp's oxalis loses its leaves, so the pots with its bulbs are kept in a cool place at a temperature of about 8-10 ° C.
Lighting: Very bright place. It should be noted that oxalis needs very intense lighting, but direct sun from noon can cause burns. Therefore, the eastern orientation of the windows is preferable for it. On the south and west window (or the side of the balcony), light shading will be needed.
Watering: In summer, during active growth, watering is abundant. Watering is reduced since autumn. Ortgis's acid is rarely watered in winter, preventing the soil from only completely drying out. The nodules of Depp's sour cherry are stored in a cool room, so they can not be watered for 1.5 months of rest.
Fertilizer: From April to August, sour cherry is fed with liquid fertilizers for indoor plants. Top dressing is carried out in two to three weeks.
Air humidity: In spring and summer, it is necessary to spray regularly. But if the humidity is not lower than 45%, oxalis can do without moisture.
Transfer: Annually in the spring in a light soil mixture, consisting of 1 part of sod land, 1 part of leaf, 2 parts of peat, 1 part of humus and 1 part of sand.
Reproduction: Propagated by nodules.
