Non-systemic insectoacaricide of biological origin, intestinal action. They are used to protect garden crops and houseplants from ticks, mining insects, thrips and other pests. Active ingredient: abamectin abamectin, at a concentration of 18 g / l abamectin. Abamectin is a natural fermentation product of the soil bacteria Stereptomyces avermitilis. Manufacturer: Syngenta Crop Protection AG, Switzerland. It is produced in the form of an emulsion concentrate, in 2 ml vials. Hazard class - 2 (hazardous substance).
Features of the drug
Abamectin belongs to the chemical class of avermectins with a neurotoxin-like mechanism of action: they stimulate the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid, which inhibits the transmission of nerve impulses and causes paralysis in insects and ticks. After spraying with the drug in a day, the ticks lose their activity, complete death occurs in 2-3 days due to inhibition of nerve impulses and paralysis.
There is a possibility of resistance (addiction of the tick with frequent treatments). To prevent resistance, it is recommended to alternate with acaricides from other chemical groups that differ in their mechanism of action.
To get rid of mites, prepare a solution of vermitic acaricide and thoroughly spray the plants and soil in the pots.
Due to the high toxicity, one treatment is usually carried out, but if necessary, repeated spraying is possible after 3-4 days if the temperature is above 25 ° C, after 5-7 days if it is cooler. Do not store the prepared solution, ventilate the room after spraying and do not allow the spray solution to get on household items or furniture.
Dilute 1 ml of the drug in 1 liter of water. This solution should be sufficient to completely wet the entire leaf surface of the plants, but the solution should not drain into the soil. The period of the protective action of acaricide vermitek is 2-3 weeks.
Vermitic - reviews
According to the results of the use of the drug Vermitek, flower growers with iplants.ru have the following opinion:
- When watering into the ground, Vertimek does not work, so it makes no sense to water them, just spray on the leaves. The exception is orchids planted in the bark, you can water the plants, immediately drain the liquid from the pan.
- Vermitic is well tolerated by plants, no burns or spray stains have been noticed.
- The drug does not destroy beneficial insects.
- Vermitic is simply irreplaceable if the flowers are attacked simultaneously by two types of pests, for example, ticks and thrips. In this case, you need to destroy both, Vermitic is doing very well.
The drug based on abamectin belongs to the 2nd hazard class for humans and the 1st hazard class for bees. Harmful in contact with skin, inhalation of vapors, irritating to the mucous membranes of the eyes. For warm-blooded animals, abamectin is a potent poisonous substance. Not phytotoxic if dosage is observed. Abamectin is inactive in soil, rapidly decomposed by soil organisms. Residues of the drug that have not penetrated the leaves become non-toxic after a few hours.

In case of poisoning with abamectin, barbiturates should not be given, since they increase the activity of this substance.
