  • Mechanism of action: imidacloprid binds to nerve receptors in the central nervous system of harmful insects, causing them to paralysis, convulsions and death.
  • Imidacloprid has systemic activity.
  • Tanrek destroys only insects and beetles (weevil, ground beetle), does not affect arthropods (ticks).
  • Has a long protective period (up to 30 days).
  • Imidacloprid, when absorbed by the roots, enters the leaves, practically does not enter the fruits, therefore, it can be used with drip irrigation for growing vegetables.
  • Imidacloprid is highly persistent in soil (half-life 50-100 days).
  • Tanrek's efficiency is independent of temperature.
  • The drug is not phytotoxic on garden and horticultural crops
  • Imidacloprid is stable at pH 5 to 7.
  • Tanrek can be combined in tank mixtures with fungicides Skor, Thanos, Topaz, Horus, tick repellents (Omite, Arrivo, Bi-58 new).
  • If necessary, it can be combined with Fitosporin.

Tanrek for aphids, whitefly and Colorado potato beetle

The manufacturer made a rush for the most thought-weary gardener and released Tanrek in the same package under different names: one is announced as Tanrek for aphids and whiteflies, the other as Tanrek for the Colorado potato beetle. In fact, this is one and the same drug, with the same concentration of the active substance imidacloprid 200 g / l, only the instructions are different - on one rate from aphids, the other from the Colorado potato beetle. That is, you can buy any drug, it will work the same way.

Tanrek: reviews

Tanrek drug - according to iplants.ru the best remedy (not counting analogues) in the fight against aphids, especially on currants. The fact is that aphids on currants cause wrinkling of the leaves, the aphid hides on the back of the wrinkled leaves, like in a house. Spraying with other drugs that do not have systemic actions is ineffective - the solution lies on the surface of the leaf, not reaching the pest colonies and not wetting the surface from which they feed. Tanrek can be sprayed on the bushes from above, the active substance penetrates through the epidermis and spreads through the vessels throughout the leaf, thus the tops and leaves become poisonous to aphids and other pests, wherever they hide. However, the systemic effects of Tanrek are significantly weaker than those of the enteric.

The manufacturer claims that Tanrek is well applied to the leaves, it is not washed off by rain. This is not true. Depends on the culture - the solution clings well to smooth gooseberry and currant leaves, badly to cucumbers, tomatoes and potatoes with noticeable pubescence, you need to spray through a fine spray, preferably in 2-3 passes, add adhesives (best of all, flea shampoo 5 ml per 10 liters of water) - it helps against ticks, since poisoning, as many pests as possible. In general, the effectiveness of the drug Tanrek on a ten-point scale can be estimated at 6-7 points.

The average price for Tanrek summer 2016: 75-85 rubles for a 10 ml bottle, 250-280 rubles for a 100 ml bottle, 1 ml and 1.5 ml ampoules - 12-15 rubles.

  • possible phytotoxicity for some indoor plants (yellowing of leaves, exceeding the dosage - death)
  • affects beetles much worse than aphids or whiteflies
  • danger to bees when working in the garden
  • therefore, strawberries (strawberries) cannot be sprayed

  • suitable for tank mixes only with neutral reaction

Tanrek: consumption rates

The consumption rates of the ready-made Tanrek solution are 10 liters per 100 m2 of leaf mass on herbaceous plants (cucumbers, tomatoes, potatoes) and from 2 to 5 liters per tree (depending on age and height), approximately 1-1.5 liters per currant bush and gooseberries.

Dosages: on apple, pear, currant, gooseberry, plum and other crops, the consumption rate is 3 ml Tanrek per 10 liters of water. Dosages on vegetables (cucumbers, tomatoes) - 5 ml per 10 liters of water, spraying potatoes from the Colorado potato beetle: 1 ml per 10 liters of water.

The working solution is not subject to storage, after dilution, use immediately (maximum can stand 3 hours).

  • How to breed Tanrek for spraying the Colorado potato beetle: pour 1 liter of water into a plastic bucket, measure 1 ml of the drug, mix, bring to a volume of 10 liters. Pour into a sprayer.
  • How to breed Tanrek from aphids and whiteflies on fruit trees and shrubs: pour 1 liter of water into a plastic bucket, measure 1.5 ml of the drug, mix, add water to a volume of 5 liters. Pour into a sprayer. When the solution is over, dilute the next batch with 5 liters of water.
  • How to breed Tanrek from aphids and whiteflies on vegetables: pour 1 liter of water into a plastic bucket, measure 5 ml of the drug, mix, add water to a volume of 10 liters. Pour into a sprayer.

How to breed Tanrek for indoor flowers: measure the required amount of the drug with a syringe, pour it into a plastic bottle with water. Dosages: for plants 1 ml per 2 l of water or 5 ml per 10 l of water. In some plants, after spraying, yellowing of the leaves may occur, especially plants with thin delicate leaves, conifers, orchids. It has been noticed that plants of the Arliidae family (Schefflera, Fatsia), the Gesneriaceae family (Eschinantus, Streptocarpus) are sensitive to tanrek (and analogues). It is necessary to dilute the drug with 0.5 ml per 500 ml of water and spray one branch or a couple of leaves. If phytotoxicity is present, yellowing will occur every other day, maximum two days. However, other factors that cause yellowing of the leaves should be excluded (overdrying, overflow, sunburn, overfeeding with fertilizers).

Scabbards and mealybugs are direct relatives - they belong to different families of hemiptera insects. However, their resistance to imidacloprid and other neonicotinoids (Aktar) is different. Scabbards are more sensitive, usually two sprays are enough, with an interval of 3-5 days, to get rid of the pests. But the worms are more resistant to this group of drugs. In order not to poison ourselves and not to oppress the plants once again, a different scheme should be used for treatment against worms and scale insects: watering with Tanrek under the root (1 ml per 1 l of water) + spraying with insecticides of the pyrethroid class (Decis) or FOS (Alatar, Fufanon).

Waiting times are 30 days after processing until harvest.

Toxicity

Tanrek is dangerous for fish, bees (hazard class 1), beneficial insects, moderately toxic for warm-blooded animals and humans, when taken orally (if swallowed), the main blow is inflicted on the liver, in addition, there may be a violation of the rhythm of breathing and coordination of movement, tremors, diarrhea, convulsions. Immediately induce vomiting, rinse the stomach, seek medical attention.

Sometimes, when spraying at home, headache and nausea are observed - in cases where the room has not been ventilated.

Half-life in soil up to 190 days.

Security measures. Spraying in a respirator, diluting the solution strictly with gloves. Wash hands with soap and water after work. Store the drug in a cool dry place at a temperature of about 5-15C, separately from food and medicine, out of the reach of children and pets!
